Legal Meet-Up Attorney Profile: Mazyar Hedayat
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Court Buddy began hosting monthly virtual Legal Meet-Ups to help people get advice from real lawyers on pressing legal topics. The Meet-Ups are run in a panel format, mediated by Court Buddy’s Chief Legal Officer Jennifer McGlone. She asks the panelists questions submitted by you, our Court Buddy users.
The next legal meet-up will take place on Friday, June 26 at 1pm PT/4 pm ET. Our panel of attorneys will be available to answer questions about rent and eviction problems. You can sign up here and submit your questions or by call (866)653-3017.
Attorney panelist Mazyar Hedayat will be offering his expertise on the subject of landlord-tenant issues.
Mazyar Hedayat is an attorney at M. Hedayat & Associates, P.C. located in Chicago, Illinois. He is also a member of the Will County Bar Association, where he serves as the Committee Chair of Law Practice Management.
Mazyar is an expert in bankruptcy litigation, bankruptcy chapter 7, 13, and 11, business law, estate planning, litigation law, mechanics liens, mortgage foreclosure, and real estate laws.
In advance of the Meet-Up, we spoke to Mr. Hedayat about his advice for landlords and tenants.
If you do end up fighting your landlord in court, Hedayat says that the outcome of a case ultimately depends on the judge.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, many states have adopted new laws (i.e. moratoriums) to temporarily halt evictions.
There are federal and state laws in place to help protect the rights of commercial and residential tenants.
